A weatherboard home opened up with a rear extension — raked ceiling, exposed-brick feature wall, a new kitchen and wide openings to the garden.
The project
The back of the house is a warren of small rooms. Walls come out under engineering, a new steel beam goes in, and the rear addition creates a raked-ceiling living space with the kitchen at its centre. Recycled-brick detailing ties the new work to the old house.
